Abstract: A report examining the impact of the Great Recession on women and men, considering several long-term changes that are making women's and men's economic lives more similar. First is women's dramatic increase in participation in the labor market between 1950 and 2009. Second, women's wages have increased, both in absolute terms and relative to men. The wage gap has narrowed, but it has not disappeared. Third is the effect of these labor market changes on family income support.
